Drinks at The Cross Keys

Matt Tommey and Kay Phasey have built their careers on serving exceptional drinks. Their knowledge of great ales, brilliant spirits, exceptional wines and bespoke independent producers is second to none. And so at The Cross Keys they have made a conscious effort to ensure that all comers are catered to.

A brilliant range of local ales means drinkers can sup the best of real ales. The Cross Keys serves beer from Shropshire’s award-winning range of real ale producers, all of which are kept in perfect condition. The ever-popular Woods Brewery is permanently on tap, giving customers the opportunity to drink Shropshire’s finest beers. Shropshire Lass, Shropshire Lad and Shropshire Born and Bred are among the brews that are likely to feature at any given time.

Woods is not the only artisanal brewery to feature. The Cross Keys also provides a happy home to beers from the Stonehouse Brewery, which is family run. All of Stonehouse’s ales are brewed by traditional hand-crafted methods and it is committed to providing great beer in the best possible condition. For that reason, its cask beers are rarely seen more than 30 miles from Oswestry.

The Cross Keys close relationship with Tanners Wine Merchants, which is based in Shrewsbury, means vintage bottles are always available. An interesting and varied wine list will please all-comers, from those looking for great provenance at affordable prices to those wishing to push the boat out. Interesting and artisanal spirits completes the drinks list, giving customers the opportunity to enjoy the finest beers, wines and spirits.
