The Cross Keys has a choice of spaces for every kind of visit, from relaxed drinks and casual food at the bar to cosy restaurant dining and the bright, open feel of The Garden Dining Room.

Whether you’re joining us for Sunday lunch, dinner with friends, a family gathering or a quiet table for two, each space has its own character and the same warm, easy welcome.

The Garden Dining Room

Bright, modern and finished with rustic touches, The Garden Dining Room is our main “wow” dining space. It feels relaxed enough for an everyday meal, while still making birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions feel special.

The heated room is available throughout the year and opens directly onto a paved patio, with steps leading down to the grassed garden. It is also dog-friendly.

The Garden Dining Room can seat approximately 35 guests for a private dining experience and works well for larger tables and groups. You can request a table here when booking, subject to availability and suitability.

 

The Restaurant

Cosy, rustic and traditional, The Restaurant has an intimate but relaxed atmosphere, with exposed beams, exposed brick, artwork and the warmth of a log-burning fireplace.

It is arranged across two connected levels, with approximately 25 seats in the lower restaurant and 20 in the upper restaurant. With only two steps between them, the spaces can also be used together for private parties of around 45 guests.

The Restaurant is suited to couples, families and larger groups. A doorway connects it to the bar, while giving both areas enough separation to keep their own atmosphere.

 

The Bar

The bar is the heart of The Cross Keys: warm, informal and easy to call into for a drink, casual food or time with friends. Dogs are welcome, and the log burner adds to the cosy country-pub atmosphere.

You’ll find wines from Tanners in Welshpool, gins from Henstone Distillery and cask ales from Wye Valley Brewery and Ludlow Brewery, with a mix of local regulars, walkers, diners and people dropping in after work.

 

Private Dining and Gatherings

Our different dining areas can be used for private meals, birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings and other celebrations, including smaller wedding celebrations. The best space will depend on the size and style of your occasion.

We can seat approximately 35 guests in The Garden Dining Room or around 45 across the combined upper and lower restaurant. For a more informal event, the approximate maximum capacity is 100 guests. Set menus, buffets and bespoke menus are available depending on your requirements.
